The Dictionary of "Decorative Arts" defines a sofa tableas having no clear distinction between it and the pembroke table:basicly an elongated version.Mr. Th. Sheraton illustrated
several similar examples of
sofa tables in his renowned book;
"The Cabinet- Maker and Upholsterers's Drawing Book".
This elegant example has a nicely figured top with a deep patination.
